Day three, and I had to set my alarm back to a later time to make sure I managed a more proper amount of sleep. Damn. I'll see if I can do a little tonight, instead, but that's a question mark.
I know, of course, that staying up late isn't actually productive, but it's been a struggle for me pretty much all my life.
In other news, I pulled out my colored inks and started layering them on top of my acrylics. I think I mentioned this in my last post, but this particular type of ink is quite thin by default, so it lets some of the base layer shine through, watercolor-style. Long of the short is, it seems I was right, and it is possible to layer it on to my painting without overwhelming it or making it obvious I'm mixing two different mediums to get this particular look.
I can never seem to settle on any one medium - digital is fun and can look good, acrylics are fun, colored ink is fun - heck, even regular old sumi-e is gorgeous. I will never get over that particular shade of black. This also means, unfortunately, I never really get good at any of them, due to how I can't seem to resist flip-flopping back and forth.
